The new A.I.-based capability uses natural language conversations to answer investment questions from teams in the front, middle, and back offices.
Rivvit Inc., a data management and reporting solutions provider, now offers a virtual analyst that uses artificial intelligence (A.I.) technologies to help end-users at investment management firms use natural language conversations to interact with data and documents.
Rivvit’s virtual assistant is intended to help front, middle, and back-office teams retrieve natural language answers about portfolio management, asset allocation, time series analysis, data quality reviews, and investment committee commentary, officials say.
“The virtual analyst uses advanced retrieval augmented generation, semantic reasoning, and context-aware analysis,” according to the announcement. “Because the A.I. is grounded in complete and trusted data, it can deliver accurate, explainable, and contextually relevant answers for any user persona through natural conversation.”
Letting investment teams ask natural language questions about portfolios, documents, performance, and reports will bring new efficiencies, Matt Biver, co-founder and CEO of Rivvit, tells FTF News.
“Investment professionals want rapid and intuitive access to information. Many business users do not know how to write code or construct complex queries, and even technical users rarely have time to do so,” Biver says. “Historically, portfolio managers and executives depended on analysts to gather routine information, which created delays and required back-and-forth clarification.”
Natural language interactions can remove “this friction entirely. Users can ask direct questions and receive immediate answers grounded in the same trusted and unified data that powers the entire Rivvit platform. Since Rivvit AI operates on governed and fully mastered data sets, the answers are reliable, explainable, and consistent with the firm’s enterprise view of the truth,” Biver says. “This allows teams to shift their time from manual information gathering to high-value decision making, while maintaining full confidence that every insight is based on complete and trusted data.”
Rivvit “can answer questions across the entire investment lifecycle because Rivvit’s data foundation is intentionally designed to support users in the front, middle, and back office,” Biver says. “This is Rivvit’s core advantage. Rivvit AI is not just another LLM [large language model]. It works because it sits on the same unified and governed data foundation that already powers intelligence across the Rivvit platform.”
Other vendors take a different approach and add “A.I. features to isolated trading or accounting systems. These systems only have visibility into one slice of a firm’s data, which means their A.I. cannot provide a complete or consistent perspective. Rivvit takes a different path. Our virtual analyst is built on top of the same trusted and curated data sets that clients use for reporting and analytics,” Biver says.

The deployment of the virtual analyst is intended to be “straightforward because Rivvit already serves as the trusted data foundation. The virtual analyst runs on the same secure and governed architecture used today for data ingestion, mastering, lineage, and reporting. There is no need for reintegration, rework, or new data transformation projects,” Biver says. “Firms simply enable the virtual analyst as a new capability within Rivvit.”
Once set up, the A.I. of the virtual assistant “works immediately because the models have already been trained to understand the data definitions, relationships, and business rules defined in the Rivvit data catalog,” Biver says.
“Access follows the firm’s existing role-based permissions and audit controls. The virtual analyst understands the user persona and the context of each question, so it knows which data sets to analyze without additional configuration or tuning,” he adds.
