Officials say the long-term Murex client has met updated derivatives reporting rules via the MXSaaS offering.
ATB Financial officials report that they have “successfully met Canada’s updated derivatives reporting rules, known as the 2025 Canada Rewrite, through the MXSaaS solution” from Murex.
The MXSaaS offering facilitates the integration of the MX.3 platform into the cloud, where dedicated Murex experts fully manage it, according to officials. The platform is intended to help firms “accelerate time to market, reduce operational burden and focus on strategic growth.”
“A Murex client for 10 years, ATB uses the MX.3 platform for a wide range of asset classes, including foreign exchange, commodities, and interest rates,” according to the announcement. The implementation “reinforces ATB’s commitment to operational excellence and transparency in derivatives reporting and marks a significant step in its regulatory compliance journey,” officials say.
The MXSaaS deployment met ATB’s needs for “trade capture and processing to risk analytics and regulatory reporting. The implementation was driven by evolving Canadian Securities Administrators regulatory requirements aimed at aligning the country’s market with global standards,” officials say.
Murex worked with ATB for a transition to the Depository Trust and Clearing Corp.’s (DTCC) global trade repository service. “The move has enabled a complete, accurate, and cost-effective transaction reporting process,” officials add.
The collaboration “also showcases our streamlined, standardized trade reporting application, which is designed to evolve seamlessly as regulations change,” says Samih Hammoud, Canada business unit manager at Murex, in a prepared statement.
Originally launched as Alberta Treasury Branches, ATB Financial is a firm wholly owned by the Canadian province of Alberta, officials say. ATB Financial has more than $100 billion in total assets and assets under management.
The firm offers personal and business banking, including ATB Wealth Management and ATB Capital Markets businesses. ATB Financial is bronze certified as part of the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations, commissioned by the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business, officials add.
