The $1.8 billion acquisition marks another step in S&P’s expansion into private markets.
Financial data and analytics provider S&P Global has announced that it is acquiring With Intelligence, a provider of data, intelligence, and connections for the global asset management industry, in a deal worth $1.8 billion. The seller is a group led by majority investor Motive Partners, a private investment firm.
Officials expect the deal to close in 2025 or early 2026, marking another step in S&P’s ongoing expansion into private markets.
With alternative assets expected to soar to $40 trillion by the end of 2030, officials say the deal will enable S&P Global to deliver “one of the most comprehensive data offerings” for participants in the alternatives and private markets.
With Intelligence currently provides proprietary data, benchmarks, analytics, and workflow tools in the alternatives and private markets to more than 3,000 customers worldwide. The company sources its data directly from investment allocators and fund managers, giving it a unique eye into the space.
The new assets are expected to be incorporated into S&P Global’s existing suite of private markets intelligence and analytics, to attract a wider range of clients — from general partners (GPs) and limited partners (LPs) to intermediaries and advisors.
