Italian banking group Banca Generali is among the first customers to use the hosted connectivity platform, Valdi Market Access, now with access to the fixed income market MTS BondVision, say SunGard Financial Systems officials.
The vendor declines to mention the other customers of the expanded Valdi Market Access service.
“Expanding our capabilities in the fixed income electronic trading space is strategic, as our customers increasingly look at combining previously siloed operations into multi-product distribution channels,” says Philippe Carré, global head of connectivity, SunGard’s capital markets business, in a prepared statement. “Changes in the fixed income market structure are pushing electronic trading to become the standard.”
The Banca Generali banking group offers a range of investment solutions and financial planning for clients, bank officials say. The bank has two different distribution channels: Banca Generali and Banca Generali Private Banking.
MTS BondVision consists of a network of global dealers linked to more than 30 countries’ government securities, and multi-currency non-government bonds, including a large number of corporate and financial bonds, MTS officials say. The market has “500 unique counterparties and average daily volumes exceeding EUR 100 billion,” says Fabrizio Testa, CEO, MTS.
The Valdi Market Access hosted solution facilitates integrated connectivity to more than 110 trading venues worldwide, leveraging the global Valdi Market Gateway offering, officials say. The Valdi suite of solutions provides access to most European financial markets, covering multiple assets classes, including equities, fixed income, structured products, commodities, futures and options.
