European equities data from two of SIX’s exchanges is available to applications in the Chainlink system.
SIX, a financial data and exchanges company, and Chainlink, a decentralized blockchain oracle network, have announced that equities data from the exchanges of SIX is available on-chain for the first time, officials say. The data will be offered to more than 2,600 applications in the Chainlink system across 75+ public and private blockchains.
“Live on testnet today – with mainnet deployment expected later this year – the data is published on-chain via DataLink, an institutional-grade data publishing service powered by the Chainlink data standard, which underpins secure data delivery across leading public and private blockchain ecosystems,” officials say.
This arrangement is helping SIX extend its reach “into blockchain market infrastructure by making data for equities listed on its exchanges in Switzerland and Spain – equivalent to over €2 trillion in market capitalization – available on-chain via Chainlink,” officials add. “Through blockchain platform’s global ecosystem of over 2,600 applications and connectivity across more than 75 blockchains, equities data from the SIX exchanges can now be programmatically accessed within standardized smart contract environments at scale.”
The arrangement with Chainlink encompasses tokenized indices, structured products, compliant DeFi applications, prediction markets, and new trading primitives, based on equity market data, officials say.
SIX operates stock exchanges and provides services in post-trading, financial information, and the payments business.
